Find Out How to Charge Your Car Battery

It’s important that you have a working car battery as you go about your day. Knowing how to charge your battery will allow you to care for your vehicle throughout the year. At Acura of Serramonte, we have a few tips to help you out.

Turn off your vehicle and open the hood. Locate the positive and negative terminals on the battery. Then, locate your battery charger. Be sure to use the red clamp on the positive terminal and the black clamp on the negative one.

At this point, you can plug the charger in and power it up. Depending on the charger you have, it will turn off by itself. Otherwise, there may be a gauge that will tell you when the battery has been fully charged. Either way, it could take a few hours to get it to full charge once again. Read the instructions on your charger to ensure you are following proper directions.
