Vehicles are Tested for Children

As a vehicle is being developed, tests are run to make sure that the vehicle is reliable and safe for everyone. Among the people that the vehicle needs to be safe for are children. Therefore, special tests are run on how safe the vehicle can be.

One of the tests for children is the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children test, or LATCH test for short. This is a testing of the system of hardware for child restraints. The LATCH is designed to make it easier for car seats to be installed. While it is possible to install car seats and other child restraints with the use of seat belts, LATCH is put in the vehicle to make sure that the child restraints are successfully installed. Therefore, they are not only put in, but tested for safety and reliability.
